We love a Christian community
that one worries in the praise and God adoration
and in expanding the Church of Christ, living in love like brothers,
experiencing the power of the Spirit Santo,
nourishing itself of the Word of God,
being agent of transformation in the society,
serving our brothers, in special, to the most needed.

The parish of Santa Trinidad was founded on 1872, and has had between chaplains and parish priests 19 people in charge of the same one.

From Our Sister Parrish in

Argentina

Translation of e-mail 25th Sept. 2004;

Daniel to Vern:

When Archbishop Venables asked us to establish a link of brotherhood and support between our communities, we immediately agreed, with gladness in the Lord.   We knew that circumstances in the US were difficult, and this was an opportunity to share your burden. I am convinced that it is in these trying moments that we should help each other and breathe life into the communion that we share as an Anglican church.

We will start praying for you and your needs this very Sunday in our services, entreating the Lord for guidance in this path that we are sharing not withstanding physical distance. We are also setting up a team of community members to help us stay in touch and assist our shared spiritual growth.

I would like to introduce my family: Mercedes, my wife, is a university graduate, currently studying Counseling, and is in charge of our Sunday school, which we refer to as the Junior Church. I was ordained on October 1990, am 40 years old, and since Jan 04 I have been working full time on my call to a pasturing ministry. I am currently archbishop Venables’ chaplain, and as from Nov 20th - God willing - I will be rector of St Marks Parish, in which I have been working as an interim pastor. We have two girls, Maria Carla, 9 years old, and Camilia, 6 years old. I will be sending you a picture later on.

The St Marks parish is located in a suburban community in the province of Buenos Aires, called Hurlingham. We have two Sunday services, both in the morning. The first is in English, with an attendance of approximately 15 people, and another in Spanish, with an average attendance of 45 people. Our community has several active groups in home bible studies, prayer groups in the temple, and the WDA. We are currently heading towards active youth participation, and to refocus our community to a missionary mindset. We seek to be a community that lives according to the word of the Lord, and then moves to share it with others. On the 30th and 31st October members of our parish will be visiting another Anglican community 350kms away, to share and grow in communion with our brothers.

We are grateful for your prayers, and you can count on ours. We feel it is important to share our dreams, goals, happiness and sadness…and that we grow in the Lord. We will soon be sharing more news, as we are looking forward to hearing from you.

We will also be sharing ideas and experiences from our diocese and our bishop in order that you may get to know us better. We hope that you and your family will be able to visit us in Argentina: the doors of our home are open to you. Vern, may the Lord continue blessing you, your wife Laura, Sydney and Christian, and all your community. He is faithful, and is with us each day.

Can You Help Us Spread
The Good News?
